Apprentice Sharing
Apprenticeships are a long-established way of training new staff across the industry, and with the launch of Adult Apprenticeships on the horizon, this already successful scheme is set to expand dramatically over the next few years. Many smaller employers, however, face the issue that their business cannot support an apprentice, because they do not undertake a wide enough range of work to allow an apprentice to complete the necessary qualifications. The Construction Academy has joined forces with Norfolk County Council and its eight Framework Contractors to establish an innovative scheme which removes this obstacle, and which will allow you to multi-skill your staff without losing your specialist status. If you employ an apprentice, but find that they are not meeting the full range of their NVQ, the Construction Academy can act as a broker to place your apprentice with another employer for the time it takes them to complete the units in question. This scheme brings benefits to all parties concerned. The apprentice completes their qualification more quickly, and brings back with them skills and abilities which may not be found elsewhere in your workforce. Your business gains a qualified member of staff, and exposure to a wide range of potential partners and clients which may prove of benefit in securing future contracts. The host business has the opportunity to increase headcount on projects where this is of benefit, and the chance to contribute directly to developing the skill levels in the industry overall. This service, like all the others provided by the Construction Academy, is free of charge. To take part in this scheme, call us on 01603 773384, or e-mail us now.
